En muchas aulas de preescolar, el enfoque es más en la adquisición de datos y menos en el proceso de descubrimiento y ayudar a cada niño a construir su propio aprendizaje. Mientras los niños se preparan para los retos del siglo XXI, es fundamental que puedan aprender no sólo hechos sino  cómo esos hechos están interconectados y organizados, para conocer y ser capaz de explicar su propio  pensamiento y ser capaces de resolver problemas y participaran con entusiasmo en el proceso científico del descubrimiento. Este taller explora las competencias docentes necesarias para apoyar el desarrollo de cada niño de las habilidades de pensamiento crítico. Los participantes también tendrán  la oportunidad de explorar los tipos de actividades que apoyan el concepto de desarrollo y crecimiento del lenguaje.

Susan Fabian
Bio:

As a professional development coach and trainer, Susan enjoys collaborating with teachers and building on their strengths in a variety of settings and teaching philosophies.  Susan is fluent in Spanish and was a mentor teacher for the Stanley British Teacher Preparation Program. Susan is a certified observer in CLASS and in the Infant/Toddler Environment Rating Scale & Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale-Revised. Susan received an MA in educational psychology from the University of Colorado, Denver. Susan enjoys gardening and doing science experiments with her two children.

Sheryl Robledo
Bio:

Sheryl Robledo is a Professional Development Coach and coaches for several initiatives. She strives to support teachers in using reflective practice to improve self-efficacy, connect theory to practice, and provide quality services to children and families.  Sheryl has over 30 years of experience within the field of education.   Her classroom experience includes, early childhood, kindergarten and primary grades.  Sheryl has developed and implemented reading, math, science, cooperative learning, and computer technology curricula for children. Sheryl is a Colorado Early Childhood Approved Trainer. She designs and facilitates various face-to-face and online trainings for the early childhood community in the Denver area.  Sheryl received her Master of Education degree in Education and Human Resources with an emphasis in Adult Education and Training from Colorado State University.  Her undergraduate degree is in Elementary Education from the University of Northern Colorado.  Sheryl has a Level 5 Colorado Early Childhood Professional Credential, a Level 3 Colorado Coaching Credential and is certified in the ECERS-R and ITERS-R. She is a certified CLASS observer for the Infant, Toddler and Pre-K tools.  She is also a certified trainer for the Pre-K CLASS.
